Post by: Bird Brain on December 19, 2010, 05:45:13 PM
Hi everyone.  Today between 1:30-3:30pm, sighted the following birds:

American Kestrel (f) x 1 - South side of Derry Rd. just East of Dixie Rd.
American Kestrel (m) x 1 - South side of Derry Rd. just West of Airport Rd.

Merlin x 1 - Derry Rd./Dixie Rd., heading in a NW direction.

Red-tailed Hawks x 5 ... Courtneypark Dr. E. - from Dixie Rd., drive East along Courtneypark Dr. E. - at the far East end, this drive turns South.  This area is usually excellent for hawk sightings, sometimes deer and other wildlife sightings - eg. raccoon, skunk, etc.  Great in the warm weather for butterfly and dragonfly sightings.

Canada Goose x 12 - North side of Courtneypark Dr. E., just East of Dixie Rd.

American Crows x 5 - Derry Rd/Airport Rd., heading in a NW direction.

Rock Pigeons x 100 - along hydro wires on South side of Derry Rd. between Dixie Rd. and Airport Rd.

European Starlings x 76 - in front of Wendy's restaurant on Airport Rd., South of Derry Rd.
