Nice set of photos! Do the males and females have different eye colours? I noticed some have red eyes and some are not.

Very nice... I was wondering how close the Canvasbacks were when it was reported that there's 2500 of them on the Niagara River. This looks very close.

I was headed to Niagara and received the ONT BIRDS report on my BB so decided to take a look. As reported, they were on the Niagara River between Niagara Falls and Ft Erie. Many were pretty close to the shore but headed out as soon as I saw them. I had more luck taking the pictures from my car. There are several small parking areas along the road and was able to pull in and open my window. It was getting late in the afternoon and the lighting wasn't good.
Yes, the male has bright red eyes, the female not.

Thanks for the suggestion. Actually, it isn't cropped at all and I'm not adept enought in Photoshop to get that female in front, out of the picture.
