Did anyone else watch yesterdays Nature show on PBS. The show, titled "White Falcon, White Wolf" was shot on the eastern shores of Ellesmere Island, less than one hundred miles from where I worked a couple of summers way back in the early sixties. It will be repeated later this week on one of WNED's sister channels. Next weeks show, "Birds of the Gods", features the colorful birds of the New Guinean rain forest. Here is a link to the Nature schedule for the next few weeks:

Not quite, this was a repeat so naturally it found it's way to youtube but, unless I miss my guess (not unusual!), next weeks is a new show. Btw, youtube is ok but it was much nicer on the new big screen :)
Incidentally Napper, I take Transit road from Dufferin to Wilson a few times a month and there is almost always a hawk sitting in the trees on the east side of the road. Any idea what it is? (I assume it's a redtail).

Re: Hawk at Downsview. Yeah it moves around an awful lot. When Carpooling home quite often we see a Red Tail on the Windsock at on the West side of the Airfield just north of Dufferin across from the Fire Station. Dufferin turns into Beffort Rd if you go straight North of Wilson.

There are kestrels about as well, they are a little harder to spot but I see them daily.

I wasn't kidding when I said most everything is on youtube
a few months ago our kenmore dryer stopped heating. I did a search on youtube
on how to replace the heating element and some dude had posted it. I bought the replacement part from
a local appliance repair place and installed it after watching the youtube vid again.
