This morning I saw the overwintering Cooper's Hawk again sitting in a tree. Last year we had a Sharp-shinned Hawk. Also 3 female Common Goldeneyes in the Thames River. First time I have seen them there, usually there are only Mallards.

This morning I saw the Cooper's again, this time flying. Right after a small falcon comes past at high speed. It was going after a small bird, trying to take it from underneath, but I don't think it was successful. By the hunting technique it must have been a Merlin.
