This is the smaller Sharp Shin I've been seeing out back lately. He's rather bold too. He stares me down and doesn't stray too far unlike the larger raptors that come to feed who jet at first sight/sound of me. He really wasn't much larger than a Blue Jay.

Lucky you ! Unlucky birds at your feeders I bet! We saw one at Lake Wabukayne last Sunday. Lighting was bad so pics were not very good. They don't seem as skittish as some.

I found a big mess of bloody snow and Pigeon feathers this afternoon. I know it wasn't this guy. The killers seem to eat about every second day out back so maybe Saturday I will see some action?
