Post by: Carl-Adam on March 04, 2007, 04:52:11 PM
I saw a nice adult male rough-legged hawk on the way to George Town from Mississauga around 12:00. The bird was near the intersection of Winston Churchill and Steels Avenue on the east side. cheers

Cool!  How'd you know it was a male?

Hey Cloaca, Rough-legged Hawks are usually difficult to sex but I had a good look at the bird from underneath. It showed traits more typical of a male such as, a pale belly, multiple tail bands and a dark bib. Although females can show these traits they are more ditinctive in males. cheers
