Title: Leucistic/piebald Robin and others at Etobicoke Creek

I was at Etobicoke Creek this afternoon (just north of the Lakeshore GO overpass, by the dam), and among the dozens of goldfinches, chickadees, cardinals, and downy/hairy woodpeckers was a small group of robins, one of which was quite neat looking!

The others, to be fair, were also quite beautiful against the snowy backdrop, and very tame.

There was also a pair of very friendly mockers sharing the same berry bush:

I was there for a couple of hours and the birds were incredibly noisy - I did see a Cooper's Hawk leaving the area south as I got there, but it did not come back and the birds did not seem worried in the least. They were too busy stuffing their faces. :)

Wow nice find!  :shock: That leucistic Robin is one cool looking bird!

Beautiful detail in that mocker portrait too.

I hope he or she hangs around a while longer. The flock was great to practice using my new camera on. :)

What camera/ lens do you have? The results look great so far!
I just my new camera last spring and love it. I have really gotten into birding since I got a better camera.

Thank you. I've had a D40 for years with a 70-300mm zoom, and even though I was doing fairly well with manual focusing, I was definitely missing out on some good photo-ops now that I've started birdwatching and figured it was time for an upgrade, so I got a D90.

Super find with the Leucistic Robin and great shot - have never seen one before. I was surprised to see a few on Monday in the -18 cold snap ,at a crab apple tree out front !   re D90 .. I've been using one for 1.5 yrs . great camera.   It is rewarding to get better pics with a better camera.

Nice shots! its a great place to go birding, one of my favorite locations when I don't feel like driving anywhere. I can just walk over
There is always a surprise in that part of the park.
