Title: Rattray Marsh - Redpolls, etc.
Post by: Reuven_M on February 05, 2011, 12:17:10 PM
A very nice day for a walk at Jack Darling and Rattray Marsh

I saw:
A number of waterfowl, goldeneye were the most common:
CANG 25; MUSW 2; GADW 2; MALL 6; GRSC 1; WWSC 2; LTDU 30; BUFF 25; COGO 100; RBME 15

1 red-tail
1 pileated woodpecker
2 white-breasted nuthatch
2 carolina wren
2 white-throated and 1 tree sparrow
A nice flock of ~40 redpolls (finally! :D ), including 1 unambiguous hoary (unstreaked rump, 1 streak on u-t coverts, small bill), and 1 other possible hoary that I couldn't get a good look at. They were around the bridge that connects Jack Darling Park and Rattray Marsh
