Hey Reg, nice shots of the Owl. I was there myself from about 9:30 to 11 and got him in the same tree.

As for the GBH, I saw one regularly at Lambton Woods until Jan 2

Thanks Zed
I was just passing by when I saw the Owl, it was about 1:30 PM there were a couple of guys
there, it was the first Owl i've seen this winter, I was excited to get a couple of shots of him.

As for the GBH, I was suprised to see one this early, according to my book they don't return
until late march, but these days you can't go by the book

Hey great shots Reg i was there around that time and got a couple pics myself.  I had my 22 month old daughter with me.  If you were the gentleman that told me about the owl thanks alot cause that was my daughters first owl sighting.  I noticed we shoot with the same lens.

Aren't these Trumpeter Swans (black bill as opposed to orange) or is it the lighting?

Those are juvenile Mute Swans (can see the knob on the bill) in process of molting into adult plumage.
