Title: No Shrike sightings but the Swan was cool
Post by: Rob'in'To on February 08, 2011, 07:42:33 AM
Another Sam Smith trip with no Shrike sighting for me...  but watching this Swan was pretty cool.  Photographing over water is quite different.

They sure do make a lot of noise on take off.

For me, I seldom have ever seen a Swan in flight.

And the landing was much more graceful than the take off.  A short flight across the shore, landing in front of me.

And finally back to the beautiful silent swimmer.

The Australian Black Swan (introduced here obviously), which looks a lot like a black mute swan.
