Title: Red-tailed Hawk (imm. Eastern) on balcony ...
Post by: Bird Brain on February 13, 2011, 05:57:28 PM
... no, not mine.  I wish!  :D

Today I was walking around Lake Aquitaine between 9am - 11:15am.  At 10:30am, heard Blue Jays squawking up a storm, glanced up and saw the hawk sitting on a 5th floor balcony railing on high rise building (North side of lake).  Wow, what a huge beauty!  The hawk sat there for quite awhile then took off - directly into path of a Crow!  The crow went after the hawk with a vengeance, was dive bombing it and chasing it around a condo at SE end of lake.

Other sightings today (Sunday, February 13th):

Blue Jays x 6
Canada Geese - flying overhead, heading NW.
Cardinals x 8 - singing up a storm all around the lake!
Chickadees - lots
Crow x 1
House Sparrows - lots
Juncos - a few
Mockingbird x 1
Mourning Doves x 16
Red-breasted Nuthatch x 1

Lake Aquitaine:  SE corner of Glen Erin Dr./Aquitaine Ave., behind the Meadowvale Community Centre.
