Was up at the cottage yesterday (near Port Severn)
The usual gang was working the feeders including a dozen Blue Jays along with a Pileated Woodpecker hammering the dead birch.
The whole area is lit up with a couple of bright floodlights at night and while looking outside I happened see a quick flash of something fly across the yard.
As I watched more closely I saw that it was a flying squirrel working the ground below the feeder.
Another one then flew in (about 75 ft.) and clamped on the big oak that the feeder is mounted on and quickly scampered down to join his friend.
Quite a treat as it's been years since I've seen them.
