Got some "flying lessons" for this shot - Humber East on Sunday. If it had been brighter , the colours in the the head would have been a lovely purply green. The males were showing off courtship displays to the females.

Thanks Denis ... here's a pic I took in March last year .. to show you what I mean about the vibrant purple / green - when the light is right.

to interject...absolutely, the head looks more purple-green, but then the whites are blown out. I think your in-flight shot is terrific as is, too...
Humber Bay's great for that sort of thing...
Best,
David B.

Thanks David, for pointing out the "blown out white" and agreeing with Denis' comments. Great feedback for both of you ... thanks again !

Very nice flight shot!
As for the colours, they may be subtle but you got 'em!
-
Buffleheads are like little rockets so any inflight capture of them is great! Excellent image Sue.
-
Excellent catch on the in-flight, Sue. The colours are good as is.
-
Thanks Scott, Zed and Harvey , for your positive feedback and encouragement.
-
It's a great catch -I'd be happy with it.
-
Thanks Moira .... appreciate your input.

Beautiful flight shot Sue! as stated earlier they are very hard to get when flying cuz they are fast and I think the colors are great
You can see some of the colors on the neck area.
so IMO, very well done :)

Thanks .. Irene ... at this stage I have say that the accolades should go to the camera and glass ... rather than the photographer !! :D I'm still very new at this.
I hope with practice that results will be left to "chance" less often. I aspire to get results like many others who post fabulous shots here.
