I saw 2 large Birds out the window at lunch and when they got closer i realized they were bald eagles. I grabbed the camera and caught a few shots of them circling over the house. Quite a sight, I hope they stick around!

Two great shots...its always a pleasure to see Eagles.

Awesome! Did you get a chance to come up to Windsor to see them on Peche Island this winter?
-
No, were they here all winter?
I would have got better shots, but in my haste when I grabbed the camera with my new 100-400mm lens, I didn't realize the focus adjustment was at 10 meters instead of infinity. :( So I couldn't crop them much farther as they were not as sharp as they should have turned out.
A good carpenter always blames his tools too!
Oh well, I was thrilled as this was my first opportunity to photograph a bald eagle!

There are residents but the numbers have been building over the winter because of the available food from the river. The lowest number I saw was three and the highest was nine on a single day. I guess at one point there were about thirty on the island, according to an article in the paper. You can see them from the marina but it would be too far to photograph, good to scope though.

I just saw a newspaper article today about it, that would be something to see, 30 eagles in one spot.
