Title: More Redpolls March 4
Post by: Leslie Kinrys on March 04, 2011, 02:48:13 PM
Today, I had a flock of 33 Common Redpolls at our backyard feeders (Sheppard/Bathurst area). Unlike last time, they didn't have a Hoary Redpoll with them. :(  There was a pair of female Hairy Woodpeckers squabbling over the suet feeder. I also had two Mourning Doves in our yard. I haven't seen them at my feeders all winter. I'm sure having a Cooper's Hawk patrolling our neighbourhood has kept the doves away.

Nice to have Redpolls in your back yard. All the Mourning Doves must have come to my place - had 10 at once a week ago.  We know there's a Sharpie and a Cooper's around here .. but they couldn't have been around that day.
