Title: Excitement of the day
Post by: Napper on March 17, 2007, 06:07:35 PM
Hey

I had just sat down to watch a race on the tube around 3:00pm today. when I saw something flyby..

I was up in time to see a Coopers hawk fly across the road and land in a tree .

Slippers on and Just a fleece jacket I head out to the sidewalk.. I tried both neighbours and nobody home.

The Accipiter is sitting in a tree behind the houses.. It sat there for ten minutes or so.. occasionally calling.. which was a surprise ..

Very nasal sounding,,  Not kek, kek..  More like phent, phent phent..  A little while later a second Cooper's (mate?) flies over and they move on...

Very cool... It was an not an adult.. had brownish markings on its chest..and yellow eyes..

I did mess up... for some reason the camera was set at iso 1250... turned out too grainy.... Napper:roll:

Other than the bottom left corner the pic is fine, nice catch.
