Title: Red Winged Black Bird, Downsview
Post by: Napper on March 10, 2011, 05:16:38 PM
Hey

This morning at 9:30 I could plainly hear a RWBB along the edge of Downsview park.

At lunch I spotted it hanging out on the power lines. It didn't sound very happy.

Another miserable day.

P.s  Very vocal American Robin across the street from our house when I got home.  There seems to be a lot more
       bird activity. Junco's are back.

I heard one at Humber Bay on Tuesday, but couldn't find him. I imagine they're all quite unhappy right now.

Heard my first one this morning at the marsh area at my work.
Ford Drive in South Oakville.
Didn't realize how much I missed that sound until I heard it this morning.
Now ask me how much I miss it in a few months when I'm trying to listen for something else

Hey!

A group of Killdeer arrived overnight. Spotted them at 9:30 along with a Larger group of Red-Winged Blackbirds. The Northern Mocking bird that spent all of last season along the tracks showed up today looking blacker than ever.
