I was down at Humber Bay between classes on Tuesday before the stretch of crummy weather we've been having rolled in. I miss the sun! I didn't notice any migrants except a secretive RWBB, but there were waterfowl out and about.
This fellow was all alone among the mallards and ring-bills and paid no attention to someone feeding them.

The mergansers by the marina were quite friendly despite being surrounded by dozens of noisy mute swans and a couple of trumpeters.

These two were also making quite the racket and fighting. It almost looks like they are dancing but their beaks were locked at this point.

Lastly, a couple more gulls because they're fun for flight practice and I love the warm colours in the immatures. :D

Those are all great shots; particularly, your Bufflehead. I was there on Tuesday and also saw him with all the Mallards and no mate in sight. Also saw Scaup and Long-tailed.

Love the dancing / fighting (or ahem ???) Gulls ... super capture.

Thank you both! :)

I have a soft spot for Buffleheads. We saw our first one on Valentines day, 2009.

How sweet! I love watching a pair and then seeing 6 more suddenly pop up from a dive all at once. :D
