Title: Come See Some Raptors Up Close And Personal
Post by: BIGFRANK on March 11, 2011, 11:40:52 AM
Just wanted to remind you of The Sportsmans Show. CPF will have their educational birds of prey exhibit there again this year. Its a great chance to see the birds up close and personal without any fences or bars between you and them. 10am -8pm are the hours from Wed-Sat and Sunday is 10am-6pm. Remember if you are on a budget, after 5pm the admission is only $5. Things are somewhat slower then too. Dont wait till Sunday evening as although exhibitors arent to do so they often start to shutdown and pack up abit early. Plan to spend alot of time at our booth, meet Boo our Eagle Owl,Alexandra The Great Horned Owl,Hudson or Remmington or both of our Gryfalcons,Max our Harris Hawk, any or all of our Peregrines,Oscar,Cheyenne and Nova,Solo our Bald Eagle, sweet weee Kyla the Kestrel and a few more birds our falconer friends bring down,Iberia the Golden Eagle and Huxa the Bald Eagle likely a few others. THe owls are real characters this time of year. Seamus/Shamus our Barn Owl may or may not be there, undecided. It will be a great experience Im sure. Make sure you say hello.
Here is the link to The TOronto Sportsmans Show website for admission prices/hours/directions etc.

The show went great and my birding friends got a special treat. At the last moment a few volunteers had to cancel so I was asked to get some of my birding buddies to help out. Amanda and her Mom Judy,Angie and Rob as well as Murray and Deb,Frank and Alice and Annie all answered the call and abley assisted. It was my thrill of the show to have my new friends get to handle the CPF educational birds. All of you did a great job thanks. Everyone got several turns with either Oscar or Nova Peregrine Falcons,Kyla the Kestrel and a lucky few got to hold Alexandra the Great Horned Owl.
We saw over 100000 people during the show, promoting stewardship, conservation, answering question and discussing the foundations work. Great work gang! Thanks for making me look good!
