This winterI found a wonderful area untouched by the urban sprawl all around it here in Mississauga where I live. I have found Short-eared, Long-eared and Saw-Whet owls consistently throughout the winter in this area but now, all that remains seems to be one Saw-Whet. I was wondering if we have passed the peak time for the northward movement of these owls or should I still keep a lookout for them?

I also observed the same 3 species most of the winter on Amherst Island (South of Kingston, Ont). I am not sure exactly where the NSWO breeds in Ontario, but I think its central ontario region.
