Having said that, I will punch any blackbirds who draw blood from the back of my head. "Jerkus, how was I supposed to know you had a nest there? I was only taking a stroll!" Ah, the bird whisperer I am surely not. But I'm sure we've all seen blackbirds chase much larger birds away, they are plucky and feisty and hard and easy to love all at once! Spring is here...

I can't wait to get more RWBB squawky shots. Cheeky buggers but I love them.

... and to add insult to injury, after pecking the back of your head, he flys to a nearby tree, perches on a low branch and laughs at you!!!
I've discovered the secret to avoiding the peck to the back of one's head while out walking at parks - look at the bird then toss him a 1/2 shelled peanut - keeps the guy busy.

LOL!!! Its a good thing they are loud, you never know what angle they are coming at you. When i hear one, i have one eye on them and one eye for birding.
Happy birding
