Title: Lake A., Plowman's Park and Lake W. - Friday afternoon
Post by: Bird Brain on March 18, 2011, 04:53:57 PM
Hi everyone.  This afternoon from 1:30-4:00pm ...

Started out at the West end of Lake Aquitaine:

Canada Geese
gulls
Mallards
Red-breasted Nuthatches

A bit further South at 5 bird feeders:

Goldfinches
Grackle - swinging wildly on a small feeder - thought for sure the feeder was going to fall to the ground!
House Sparrows

Plowman's Park:

A young human couple making out big time on the ground right by side of paved trail!
Get A Room!  (Idiots!)

Lake Wabukayne:

Cardinals
Chickadees
Mallards
Mockingbird
Robins

The city has now installed a black fence along the South side and East end of Lake Wabukayne.  IMHO, this has completely and totally taken away from the natural beauty of this lake/park.  :(  The worst part is at the East end close to the dam where the bench and picnic table are located.  No longer a relaxing scenic unobstructed view of the lake.

Lake Aquitaine:  SE corner of Glen Erin Dr./Aquitaine Ave., behind the Meadowvale Community Centre.

Plowman's Park:  SE corner of Glen Erin Dr./Battleford Rd., behind senior's building.

Lake Wabukayne:  NE corner of Glen Erin Dr./Windwood Dr., behind condo and school.
