Post by: Bird Brain on March 28, 2011, 03:41:36 PM
Hi everyone.

This afternoon between 12:45-2:00pm, I was walking around Lake Aquitaine.  Sighted the following:

Crows x 3
Grackles x 6
gulls - 150+
House Finches x 7 (3m, 4f) - including 1 male *Orange Variant.  Wow, so beautiful!  :D
House Sparrows - lots
Mallards - lots
RWBB's (male) - lots
Robin x 1

*location:  SE corner of lake, counter-clockwise along main paved trail, just past Exercise Machine #4, you'll be looking down a hill with lots of bramble, shrubs, etc.  A favourite spot for Goldfinches and House Finches.

Lake Aquitaine:  SE corner of Glen Erin Dr./Aquitaine Ave., behind the Meadowvale Community Centre.

Walked around Maplewood Park from 2-3pm and sighted the following:

Cooper's Hawks - female in nest, male perched nearby.
Crows x 8
GBH - heading North directly above Montevideo Rd., appeared about to land somewhere just North of Derry Road.
House Sparrows - lots
White-breasted Nuthatch x 1

Maplewood Park:  East side of Glen Erin Dr., just North of Aquitaine Ave.
