My husband and I counted 6 Great Blue Herons at or near nests just west of Bolton. Go west on King St. out of Bolton. First road after the railway tracks turn right (north). Just north of the Cavalier yard , look to the east. There are about 5 nests in trees. Will have to keep an eye on this small heronery.
Also, several sightings today of the local Pileated Woodpecker on the street.
Good birding.

Checked out the mini heronery, just outside of Bolton. Looks like 8 nests occupied. This heronery is located just north of King Street, I think it is Humber Station Road. On the northeast corner is Cavalier truckyard. go past it and look to the east across the field. The nests are on the other side of the railway track. We walked across the field and my husband went onto the tracks to take some pictures. There were several tree swallows in and out of the dead trees, flicker also called.

Made the trip today from Brampton to Bolton. Parked at the side of Humber Station Rd. just north of the Cavalier yard as you suggested and saw a very active group of herons. At one time 3 birds were vying for one nest, it was getting pretty crowded. I reckon I saw 6 herons in total. As a bonus, while looking thro' my bins I heard this wonderful birdsong, I looked up and a bobolink was on the wires directly above me. He stayed a while and then flew over the road to a field on the other side and I watched him for a further 10 mins. Only the second time I've seen one of these, great.
