On the way home from Mountsberg yesterday, saw a large herd of deer, 30+. They were in a field south of the 401 just before Creditview. Nice to see. Enjoyed Mountsberg as well. Alot of people around due to the Maple Syrup Festival. Saw a muskrat and many common mergansers, a few scaup and a bufflehead on the reservoir. It was still half frozen. Did not see much else, but, was with a nonbirder and we were chatting. The raptor centre was awesome! And brought home some Mountsberg made maple syrup too...yum

Was it your first time at Mountsberg?
We're going again in a couple weeks, love it there.

I have not been to Mountsberg in a few years. Usually go to Kelso. I go for a walk/birdwatch/read/cross stitch while the other half goes riding and swimming. Sunday was the first outdoor ride of the season.
