Early this morning, in Harrow, Ontario, my wife and I welcomed our resident swallows. Both Barn and tree swallows are flying in our yard inspecting various nesting options we have here on our 1.5 acre property. The barn swallows will occupy their usual spots in the barn and the tree swallows enjoy the 4-plex houses I have built for them.
Spring has officially arrived!!!

It's so exciting to have them returning. I had Eastern Towhees and a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker in Windsor today.

It's great to have warmer weather and the seasonal birds! I was at Hillman Marsh on Sunday and noticed lots of tree swallows (first of the season). This photo was taken there.
