Title: RFI: Owl nesting sites needed in Niagara
Post by: Ground State on April 16, 2011, 09:33:49 PM
Hello, I am organizing an outing with a small interested party and was wondering if anyone in the Niagara region knew of any nests that have been occupied by Great Horned Owls (and other owls as well) and could suggest locations. We would like to be able to set up scopes and get a close-up glimpse of these amazing birds. Approximate directions via GPS coordinates on Google Earth are also readily acceptable, if that is an easier way of describing a location.

Good luck with this, people are usually pretty protective about owl sites

In response to Matthew's points, we were envisioning standing at the side of a road using scopes to look across a farmer's field at an old hawk nest in the far back corner. That type of thing! Nothing intrusive.
