April 30 afternoon - a flock of about 24 Horned Grebes seen in the bay south of the terminal parking lot at end of the
drive down Kipling Ave into Col. Sam Smith Park. Most were in breeding plumage, some in winter plumage. Size of
the flock clearly indicated migratory presence. A single pair of Red Necked Grebes were nearby - this latter species is
known to nest in the Park in former years.
