Hello,
I found a killdeer nest today at Downview, incredibly well hidden on the side of a dirt hill. I also saw a turkey Vulture and a number of tree swallows. I think I might have seen a Loggerhead Shrike but I am new to bird watching and it doesn't seem like there have been many Shrike sightings in the GTA, are Shrikes normal for this time of year?
Cheers,

I know there are several Northern Mockingbirds in Downsview, which are the same size and can look quite similar from further away or in flight, as they both choose prominent perches to sing (or hunt, for a shrike) from.
