Hi, I have these 2 birds and I am not sure what they are, I would appreciate some assistance please:):)

The first bird is a slate-colored Junco and the second is an Eastern Pheobe. cheers

Thanks very much Carl, I had another look in my book and wondered if it was a dark-eyed junco(pink-sided) , and an Eastern wood peewee. I appreciate your assistance:):)

Light can play tricks on us. Your photo, which is great by the way, looks like there are white tips to the Greater wing coverts and it looks like a wing bar. But the all black bill distinquishes it from the Eastern Wood Peewee. The Peewee had a yellow - orange lower mandible. Again a fabulous photo graph. Good birding, Bruce
