Is this a Flicker or maybe a Yellow Bellied Sapsucker?  My son fed my field guide to the toilet yesterday

It's a Northern Flicker: yellow-shafted race. The black mustache is difinative. If you find one with a red mustache, it is Northern Flicker of the red-shafted race - rare here.  They are one species and often interbreed and have an intermediate plumage. Good birding and good photo.

Thank you for the ID.  I am trying to keep all my shots organized for this year for the first time.  It's so hard to learn so many birds ID's but I am glad you guys are around.  I have always appreciated our feathered friends but this is my first year really paying attention to all the different species around my house.
