I spent between 8-8:30 this morning in the fog and another half hour at 4 p.m. in bright sunshine at this small park. It is located southwest of the intersection of Simcoe St. and Bremner Blvd., opposite the Metro Convention Centre.
16 sp. of Warbler including a male Connecticut, 15 ft. up in a Trembling Aspen! javascript:emoticon('')
3 sp. of Vireo including Philadelphia
5 sp. of Sparrow including Field.
Also two Catbirds and singles of E. Wood Pewee, Grey-cheeked Thrush, Northern Flicker
Quite a remarkable concentration in a park which is less than one hectare in size and consists of mostly grass with formal plantings. The best location was the aspen grove in the center of the park. No doubt the overnight rain and early morning fog had grounded these migrants.
