The Great Egret has returned and was contending with a night heron today on the large storm-water reservoir south east side of the park.

Cool....I saw a Great Egret in Scarborough in my neigbourhood north of Malvern. There is a hydro corridor that dissects my neighbourhood which one of the Rouge River tributaries run through. Between rows of homes on both sides and right under the powerline  towers is a wetland. I saw the great egret fishing among the grasses. Amazing to see wildlife so close to home. The only other time I saw a Great Egret was in Florida last year.
