I've seen this little (about the size of an egg) guy daily in my backyard for the last few days.  Saw another in High Park today.  Winter wren?  Almost looks more like the 'western' sub-species.

I moved from the west coast where the winter wren is common.  They are also real skulkers  Your hear them singing and really have to search deep in the bush to find them.  The eastern sub species is either a lot less wary or seeing the wren walking about a lawn is an anomoly.  I think it is safe to say that you would " never" see a western winter wren walking on someone's lawn. They are very much a deep bush bird out west.  Bruce.
