Title: Yippee!, one gosling and six ducklings at Lake Aquitaine.
Post by: Bird Brain on May 26, 2011, 02:40:56 PM
:D  Hi everyone.  I'm so excited!

This afternoon, went for a clockwise walk around Lake Aquitaine between 12:15-2:15pm.

Sighted one gosling - I'm guessing less than one week old due to size and lots of yellow - with mom Canada Goose by Exercise Machine #6 (North side of lake).  The gosling was full of energy and was running around on the main paved trail then eating and napping.  So cute!

At East end of lake, just before the bridge, sighted 6 teeny tiny ducklings - I'm guessing one or two days old - following mom Mallard and climbing over rocks.  Super cute!

Other sightings:

Grackles
House Sparrows
Mourning Doves
Red-winged Blackbirds
Robins
Starlings

Lake Aquitaine:  SE corner of Glen Erin Dr./Aquitaine Ave., behind the Meadowvale Community Centre.
