I had the day off today.. Had many things to do..
Over the last week or soo at the golf course on Trafalgar just North of Britannia I've seen while passing what looked like swans but black!
Today I stopped and had a closer look.. Black swans with Mute swan "Orange" bill.. Odd looking. Must be a Domestic breed..
Can anybody help me with this?.. Napper
No I didn't go golfing.
Curious looking birds at Britannia just west of Ninth line in a flooded field. The road is too narrow to stop..safely.. Although someone else was there watching in a really dangerous position... I thought they looked like small gulls almost Boneparte' like..

Sounds like the Australian Black Swan which is frequently seen in zoos and ornamental ponds.

It would be interesting to find out if the golf course owner bought these swans as decoration for his course. It would also be interersesting to find out if he has had the flight feathers clipped. These swans are powerful long distance flyers.

I thought that they might be purchased birds
They looked a bit rough... They are/were in a small pond visible from Trafalgar rd. South of Britannia rh side travelling north bound..
New golf course, They also have Blue bird nesting box's visible near the road..
I only noticed the swans last week. My carpool dude and I use the 403 escape to avoid traffic tie-ups at the 410 mostly on Friday's
