Hi everyone. This morning between 7:30-8:30am, walked around Maplewood Park and sighted the following:
Blue Jays
Cardinals x 3 (2m, 1f)
Chickadees
Crows
House Sparrows
Robin on nest - this will be her second set of babies in this nest.
From 8:45-10am, walked around Lake Aquitaine and sighted the following:
Canada Geese including 3 goslings - 2 appear to be about 2 weeks old and 1 appears to be about 1 week old ... close to Exercise Machine #5.
Cardinals
Grackles
Gulls
House Sparrows
Mallards including 1 duckling (down from 6). I'm wondering if the resident Snapping Turtle has been having them for lunch?
RWBB including one juv.
Robins including one female sitting in nest.
Starlings including lots of juvs. bugging mom for food (worms). The babies are quite large!
Lake Aquitaine: SE corner of Glen Erin Dr./Aquitaine Ave., behind the Meadowvale Community Centre.

I too saw plenty of juvenile starlings today at High Park! Also some juvenile RWBBs. It's their time of year all right...

Hi David. It's amazing how large the juv Starlings are and the adult is kept extremely busy digging up worms! The juv RWBB's are cool - they remind me of a really beautiful, colourful version of the female RWBB.
