Title: Whip-poor-will Project
Post by: angieinto on June 08, 2011, 05:07:41 AM
Just curious if anyone else is taking part in the Whip-poor-will project for Bird Studies Canada?
Most of the routes are taken, but I know they were looking for some people to cover some other areas around the Niagara Escarpment and Oak Ridges area.

We are taking part, and I am very excited about maybe hearing/seeing my first Whip-poor-will.  :D
Sad their numbers are declining so much, as with many bird species.

They keep us awake at the cottage......of course they like to hang out by our bedroom window.....

I'll do my part and get on board with this as now I can report the little ***** for disturbing the peace......

Thanks for the link.

It's all good......but boy can they belt it out......

They are a rare site (at least for me)

Last time I regularly heard one was about 30 years ago at our old cottage on Indian River.
