Title: RFI - Insect I.D.
Post by: Moira on June 08, 2011, 09:44:46 PM
This bug hit me in the head and stuck in my hair.  I was quite surprised when I got a look at it.  I only had a chance for 2 quick pictures and it flew away.  Looks like a martian (lol).  Does anyone know what it is?  Thank you!

Hi Moira,

That's an Eastern Eyed Click Beetle (Alaus oculatus).  Nice find!  Haven't seen one in years.
