Growbark on Mayfield road has a few small ponds on the property.
2 firsts at the same time not 5 feet apart. Spotted sandpiper and a Horned Lark.

Nice!
I'm 36 and I've been birding hardcore since I was about 8. Saw my very first horned lark this year too. It used to bother me every time I would look at their range maps in the field guides and think, "What the heck??? Where is this common bird!" I guess it was just a matter of poor coincidence over the years - but I like to believe that they're way less common than the books make them out to be.

This past Sat i had also spotted a Northern Mockingbird at Growbark.
