Title: Northern Water Snake
Post by: Brian Bailey on June 11, 2011, 10:21:46 PM
I found a small Northern Water Snake today in the Etobicoke Creek.  At first I thought it might be a melanistic Garter Snake because it looked completely black when it was dry, but once it got in the water the colours were visible.  I don't think I've ever seen one in Toronto.

(When I say small, I mean small for a Water Snake.  It was about the size of a large Garter Snake.)
