Title: My last photo set for a while
Post by: mr.sharp-photo on June 13, 2011, 05:17:32 PM
Allo allo!

I knocked off another bird from my to-see list (thank you, BirdNerd!! I owe you) when I saw a # of indigo buntings. the weather did not cooperate with me and the lighting sucked. These are the best of the not-so-great.

Its my photography offseason so unless there are hooded mergansers or hummingbirds to shoot, I'll likely see you all in August.

Wowsers, those are way better than my best attempts! What are you shooting with?

Nice series Richard. I haven't seen any yet this season, hoping too, and a Scarlet Tanager as well.

There are tons in Riverwood this year, more common than catbird, warbling or red-eyed vireo etc. I'd guess at 10-15 or more pairs between Dundas st. and the 403 along the credit

Great sighting/capture.

A friend has a few of these on her property, at her feeders, but to her after seeing them so often, are like watching House Sparrows.  I don't think I could see an Indigo Bunting ever in that way.

their one "negative", I guess, is that they're pretty funny looking when they sing. none of the in-action singing shots were appealing at all.
