The little Hermit thrush is working the back yard next dooor 7:25 pm tonight

I hear a slight sounding weezzy   seeear,  seeear, seeeear

The thrush moves quickly into a shrub.  Less than a minute later a Coopers hawk appears hovers for a second then swoops not more than 10 feet above me heading over the houses Eastward ....everything goes quiet.. I am not sure which bird sounded the alarm but it was interesting to watch the reaction..
The light bulb went on when the Coopers appeared...

If you see a hermit thrush on a lawn try watching it and see if it does this - many times I see them rapidly tap the ground with one leg.  It looks kind of funny.  My guess is that they are trying to scare insects so they'll move and become visible.
