Title: Cooksville Creek Spit
Post by: Axeman on April 27, 2007, 04:53:58 PM
I took a walk along the spit at the mouth of cooksville creek (Mississauga -- Port Credit area) and saw, in addition to the usual starlings, red-winged black birds, numerous gulls, terns, mallards, dc cormorants, canada geese, mute swans, common grackles, white throated sparrows, buffleheads, rb grebes....and my highlight....a pair of greater scaups.

Last Saturday (April 21) I saw a common loon at the same location (along with loads of rb grebes, buffleheads, rb and c mergansers). It stayed for about a half day (the loon). Years ago (90's), I spotted a pair of arctic loons in the same location.
