Title: Sapsucker and Warbler
Post by: Steve Hood on July 05, 2011, 12:14:46 AM
The Yellow Bellied sapsucker was taken in Hockley Valley a couple months ago while the Female Yellow Warbler was taken this past weekend at the Leslie Spit.

Thanks Moira and Egret.  They were both very cooperative for these shots.  I will be going back to the Leslie spit soon as there seems to be many opportunities for bird shots in the wooded areas there.  I will be better prepared next time for the mosquitos and red ants.

I like how you can see the distinctive sections that the sapsucker carves out to get at the sap.

Yes, it is interesting how the holes are vertically alligned.
