I'd reported on a nest of Killdeer at work in Missisauga. Many of us here fretted and worried about the viability of the nest in our parking lot. In the end 4 eggs were laid and brooded for almost a month. Canada Day was celibrated by the first hatching and then all four by Monday afternnon. We can still hear them in the area but Mom & Dad have wisely moved the chicks closer to food sources in permanenr ditches and basins. Survival? Up to the course of nature now.
