And so it continues...
I really don't consider our backyard to be any different than anyone else's but this year really has been a strange one for birds showing up. I realize these guys do drop in to backyards in the city fairly regularly but not ours, up until today. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw all the little ones, 11 in all!
A visit to our yard first.

And then under the fence to the neighbour's yard.

With concern for the young, I phoned for help but unfortunately by the time my call was returned, the birds had moved on. Where?, I don't know! They couldn't have gone too far.

Hi Walter,
It is really a jungle out there. I've had skunks, raccoons, even a fox, visit our yard. But, no mallards have visited my bird bath yet! Keep those interesting posts coming.

I'm across the street from Bestview Park and my visitors have included raccoons, cottontails, skunks, snakes, toads, at least 3 varieties of squirrels and this year for the first time (that I am aware of), a couple of chipmunks and, of course, all the usual birds, including at least two hummingbirds (mother and fledgling?). Still waiting for my first blue jay this year - I know they're noisy and bossy but I still love 'em! :)

I recall a group crossing Bayview once
and we had to shoo them on their way
