We had 84 species yesterday including 13 warbler species.

- Canvasback - 7 - Trout Pond
- Belted Kingfisher - 3 - Snake Island and Gibralter Point
- Red-bellied Woodpecker - 1 - male at the trap on Wards Island
- Northern Flicker - 36 - thru-out
- Whip-poor-will - 1 - Snake
- Least Flycatcher - 5 - Wards
- Blue-headed Vireo - 2 - together in The Sanctuary
- Cliff Swallow - 16 - Centre Island
- Carolina Wren - 1 - Sanctuary
- House Wren - 5 - Wards, Gibralter and Hanlans Point
- Winter Wren - 5 - Wards, Snug Harbour and Hanlans
- Golden-crowned Kinglet - 5 - Wards, Snake and Sanctuary
- Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 72 - thru-out
- Blue-gray Gnatcatcher - 5 - Sanctuary and Hanlans
- Veery - 1 - Sanctuary
- Hermit Thrush - 81 - thru-out
- Wood Thrush - 1 - Sanctuary
- American Robin - 50 - thru-out
- Brown Thrasher - 7 - Wards, Snake and Hanlans
- Yellow Warbler - 3 - Snake, Centre and Gibralter
- Black-throated blue Warbler - 3 - Wards, Snake and Snug
- Yellow-rumped Warbler - 86 - thru-out
- Blackburnian Warbler - 1 - Snug
- Pine Warbler - 1 - Snake
- Palm Warbler - 9 - Wards, Centre and Gibralter
- Ovenbird - Snug and Sanctuary
- Louisiana Waterthrush - 1 - Snake, good look only about 6 feet away
- Northern Warterthrush - 1 - Snug
- Common Yellowthroat - 1 - Snake
- Song Sparrow - 21 - thru-out
- American Tree-Sparrow - 1 - Hanlans
- Chipping Sparrow - 18 - Wards, Centre and Hanlans
- Savannah Sparrow - 13 - Wards and Hanlans
- Swamp Sparrow - 14 - thru-out
- White-throated Sparrow - 500 - thru-out
- White-crowned Sparrow - 6 - Wards and Sanctuary
- Dark-eyed Junco - 4 - Wards
- Rose-breasted Grosbeak - 7 - Centre, Sanctuary and Hanlans
- Northern Cardinal - 10 - thru-out
- Orchard Oriole - 2 - females together on Hanlans
- American Goldfinch - 24 - thru-out
We also had Lesser Scaup, Wood Duck, Spotted Sandpiper, Caspian and Common Terns, Chimney Swift, Y-B Sapsucker, Hairy and Downy Woodpeckers, Purple martin, Rough-winged Swallow, Eastern Phoebe, Nashville, Black-and-white, and Black-throated green Warblers.

Great sightings Norm.
I better get busier.
I want to ask you how one
gets to Snake Island? Also, why
is it so named? Hope not for snakes ..

There is a map of The Islands at the ferry docks at the 3 ferry docks on The Islands and at the Toronto ferry dock.

and he gave me some info
think he said it might be named
Spirit Island now .. Not sure
will pick up the map as well

No EGRET it is called Snake Island.
It is the second bridge to your right when you leave the Wards Island ferry dock.
