Today while enjoying the gardens and a chat with birding friends, this big beauty flew right passed us and landed on the Butterfly Bush. It's a Giant Swallowtail, a migrant from the US. First time I've seen one since 2008.

Outstanding photos.... I am fairly certain I saw one in High Park also but I was unable to get a photo as, at that PRECISE moment, I was putting in a new battery....; however, did get a good look ... lucky you -- after the 60 seconds it took me to change the battery and turn the camera back on he was way up high in the butterfly bushes.
Again, gorgoeus photos and my compliments to you.

Well done Walter!
