Ya, people see Chipmunks all over the place when visiting some parks and wooded areas. But these ones are OURS... never really having Chipmunks so close to home, and now a couple around the yard all summer, is still quite exciting to us, and seeing them run around and act like goofballs puts a smile on my face.
This one loves Sunflower seed...

This other one has a great hiding place here with the clothes line. He seems to prefer shelled peanuts (the other ignores them).

And as we get used to each others' presence, tranquil portrait moments like this occur.

I guess in another 6 weeks or so they ought to go into hibernation... :(

great series Rob, we only have the usual 6-8 black & gray squirrels at our place. We went up to Killbear PP on the long weekend and thought we would be over run with chippys ,as most years and took 4 huge bags of peanuts but didn't see one on our campsite. Not sure what was happening, maybe wrong area of park!.
I am sure your little guys will be busy getting ready for winter
